What it does

In many markets, your fabrication clients live on WhatsApp. The integration aims to let you send portal links, install reminders and payment requests through the channel they actually answer — beta on selected workspaces today.

Templated messages: portal invite, install reminder, payment request, sign-off prompt
Sent via WhatsApp Business Cloud API (Meta-official) where enabled
Sends logged on the job timeline so messages stay associated with the right job
Available on selected workspaces today; broader rollout in progress
Opt-in / opt-out respected per client per channel
Otherwise Slabr can provide shareable links for manual sending

Who owns what

Each side runs what it's best at. The integration moves the right data, at the right time, in the right direction.

Data flow

Step by step.

Slabr → WhatsApp

Where enabled: job stage advances → matching templated message fires (e.g. "Cutting complete — your kitchen is in assembly").

Client → WhatsApp

Where enabled: client receives the message with a link to the portal.

WhatsApp → Slabr

Where enabled: message activity is logged against the job timeline so the team can see it alongside other comms.

Slabr → Client

Where WhatsApp is not enabled: Slabr provides shareable links your team can paste into WhatsApp manually.

Common questions

Answers about the WhatsApp Business integration.

Is WhatsApp live?

WhatsApp Business workflows are in beta for selected workspaces. We confirm availability during onboarding.

Can clients receive quote and portal links over WhatsApp?

Yes, where WhatsApp is enabled for the workspace. Otherwise Slabr can provide shareable links for manual sending.

Do I need a WhatsApp Business account?

Yes — a WhatsApp Business API account (via Meta or a Business Solution Provider). Slabr uses the official Cloud API. Setup takes a day if you don't already have one; we can guide you during onboarding.

Will my number be flagged as spam?

WhatsApp's quality rating is based on user reports and opt-out rates. Because Slabr only sends pre-approved templates to opted-in clients on real job events, quality stays high. We monitor the rating and surface it.

What templates are available?

In the beta: portal invite, install reminder, payment request, sign-off prompt, snag follow-up. Custom templates can be added through Meta's template approval flow.

Does it cost extra?

WhatsApp Business message fees apply per Meta's pricing (typically R0.30–R0.60 per business-initiated message in SA). Slabr does not add a margin.
